Meaning of Life and Thanksgiving Essay Example for Free

Which means of Life and Thanksgiving Essay As the primary pioneers showed up at Plymouth Rock and had a dining experience with the Indians, they shared a snapshot of thanks together. They expressed gratefulness for every one of their gifts, in this manner, making our dazzling day of Thanksgiving. When Thanksgiving is thought of, the principal thing that rings a bell is turkey and an abundant measure of food. Thanksgiving to me, is an ideal opportunity to be along with the ones you care about. Meeting up for a day to simply be with one another and to make up for lost time is the thing that Thanksgiving intends to me. Family ought to be with one another to share recollections and to understand the copious measure of favors they have been given. Thanksgiving isn't just a day for pigging out on food or falling into a food trance like state, yet conversing with one another and simply being happy to be with each other. Having family during Thanksgiving is a significant part in my life. Having the entirety of my family members in a single spot for one day to talk and play around with them makes Thanksgiving additional unique for me. It is one of only a handful hardly any days of the year that I get the opportunity to see everyone. The turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pureed potatoes is only the what tops off an already good thing. Everyone in my family adores the food. We eat and eat until we cannot eat any longer. My family has a custom of playing soccer a while later however that goes just so far because of our full stomachs. My cousins and I play a well disposed round of poker, a short time later our bombed endeavors for soccer, for first dibs on dessert. After a decent round of poker, my cousins and I search for approaches to engage ourselves in the interim the grown-ups talk about their lives and boast about their children. Society today makes Thanksgiving resemble a day just to eat. As society propels the importance of Thanksgiving disintegrates into a common occasion. The significance of Thanksgiving appears to be out of date. I really accept that Thanksgiving ought to be revived in its importance and ought to be praised with family and love. As individuals meet up to share an extraordinary day in our history, this ought to be a day which individuals won't underestimate.

Difference Between Manufacturing and Services Sector Essay Example for Free

Distinction Between Manufacturing and Services Sector Essay Distinction among assembling and administration organization’s activities To look at the tasks between the assembling association and administration association, I have taken the case of Mahindra vehicle segment as an assembling association and State bank of India banking part as administration association. The Mahindra Company imports its crude materials from Japan, where in the wake of getting its parts it first at first makes a body structure of the vehicle with the acquired parts. The subsequent stage is pivot gathering, where it fixes the wheels to the vehicle. The third stage is the transmission get together where they fix the apparatus box for speed and torque of the vehicle. Coming to fourth stage they fix the reasonable motor for the vehicle, and the fifth stage is trailed by fixing the skeleton which is frame gathering Stage. The assembling of body is finished upto this stage lastly the vehicle goes into body shop where it gets paint in wanted hues. At last the yield is all set into to the market. From that point it goes it to the merchant where it is appropriated to various wholesalers and from that point it goes to retailers in various pieces of the city or state. Where the end client will proceed to purchase the vehicle at the closest retail shop to him. Later the organization counsels the clients who brought their vehicles and get the input from them, where the actualize the client changing tastes and perspectives into the RD office for additional act of spontaneity of their vehicles. In the administration area like State Bank of India the primary adage of this part is to give client service’s like ATM administrations, Safety store storage, outside internal settlements, E-pay. Where their center is to give client the most extreme fulfillment with their administration, for instance for a client to open a record in the bank the stages are, first the client need to get a structure from the counter accessible in the bank, fill it and verify the fundamental required archives alongside an introducer who as of now has a record there. Along these lines, with these contributions from the client the bank procedure the application structure makes a record for the sake of client for which he was at first given a passbook and ATM card. Further with the decision of client the bank gives a web banking account, portable banking and different administrations. In Banking Sector estimation of tasks rely on the item quality (Some models: Electronic merchant money, Electronic seller account, Direct charge) just as the administration quality model (Some models: Utility bill installment, Direct circuitous assessment installment). Likewise joint effort with remote firm made SBI the most High Tech Bank in India following a very made sure about just as a superior presentation lattice model than different banks. The fundamental contrast among assembling and administration area is that, in the assembling part the vehicles that are delivered can be felt, contact by the clients truly, yet in administration division like banking their tasks can't be felt truly I. e. , immaterial. Administration firms don't create a help except if a client requires it, in spite of the fact that they plan and build up the extension and substance of administrations ahead of time of any requests. Administration firm like banking for the most part produce a help customized to clients needs, for example, web banking and versatile banking are given to clients who required that administration, in assembling firm they can create vehicles without a client request or figure of client request. They produce the vehicles keep them in warehousing and send to the outlets where the interest is to be met. Administration firms don't require a physical creation site. The individuals making and conveying the administration can be found anyplace. For instance unique SBI branches situated in various pieces of city, yet for makers like Mahindra Company must have a physical area for their creation and stock holding activities. Creation doesn't really occur on the makers own site, it can happen anytime in the flexibly chain. Issue of natural concern and the effects to the association The carbon impression (Green House Gas discharge brought about by an association) of making a vehicle is hugely intricate. Minerals must be uncovered from underneath the ground and the metals separated. These must be transformed into parts. Different segments must be united: elastic tires, plastic dashboards, paint, etc. The entirety of this includes moving things around the globe. The entire parcel at that point must be amassed, and each phase in the process requires vitality. The organizations that cause vehicles to have workplaces and other foundation with their own carbon impressions, which were expected to some way or another designate proportionately to the vehicles that are made. Partnerships don't work in spreadsheets and archives. They work in, collaborate with and influence the economy, society and the earth. This mindfulness is developing and is turning into the standard in the revelation strategies of enterprises. No longer can an association simply report its financials and hope to fulfill the partners †speculators, clients and controllers. An association must understandable to its partners its way to deal with supportability and impart its social and ecological activities towards manageability. In as per the earth concern Mahindra has built up a green assembling office in bangalore for the creation of an eco-accommodating electric vehicle called REVA. The office follows unbending green rules directly from reuse of development waste to use of sun based vitality for continuous vehicle fabricating process, this assembling plant significantly utilizes the power from sun based of about 35% of plant load is provided from it, this plant spares around 53000 kg Co2 outflow/year and furthermore spares 22000 liters of diesel/year. This spares a ton of Green house gas discharge into the air. There are 3 main considerations came into light for the explanation of improvement of the eco-accommodating vehicles. First is developing clients, where the clients in present age are turning out to be eco-cognizant and cost cognizant. Second is Macro variables like quick urbanization, rising fuel expenses and contamination clog. Third is raising innovation where part of research is done and actualized in philosophy to produce another cutting edge innovation vehicle. This ecological worry by Mahindra drove it into a significant speculation into the innovation improvement and furthermore for the development of eco-accommodating plant which is progressed and modern when contrast with ordinary plants, where this cost trouble has prompted the significant expense of the vehicle, where it has been propelled for 3. 10 lakhs. Taking into account a white collar class client why he has decide to purchase a reva vehicle, despite the fact that there are factors like condition concern, and expanding cost of fills, there are other superior vehicles in the market at same value which run on diesel or petroleum. So he significantly picks going for the elite vehicles. Despite the fact that by usage of very good quality innovation has prompted the expansion in cost, Mahindra needs to take up cost decrease quantifies as the electric vehicle is significantly a white collar class focused on item, they ought to have the option to sell the item at a lot less expensive cost where as of now Tata has propelled Nano with an expense of around 1. Lakhs, Where it pulls in the major of the clients. Despite the fact that in the clients the natural concern has expanded, however greater part of clients want of utilizing normal diesel/petroleum based vehicles which they have been utilizing for quite a while. So the car organizations like Mahindra were additionally incapable to totally concentrate on these eco-accommodating vehicles, where their significant concern is of losing their place of selling the ordinary car vehicles in the worldwide markets. Despite the fact that they started this venture with their thought process of decrease of carbon impression, it might take quite a long while to come to get their item in reach to lion's share of customers. Independent of their deals of the ‘green manufacturing’ item Reva, Mahindra was the first car fabricating office in Quite a while to be as of late granted the ‘Platinum’ rating by IGBC (Indian Green Building Council). The plant has been created as per the gauges set by the IGBC-India, an all around acknowledged benchmark for the structure and activity of superior green structures. Effect of developing client desires on an association their activities In the current financial condition, endurance and proceeded with business triumph consent is â€Å"exclusive focus to the customer†. It is accepted that, brilliant client connections are the pouring power for manageable worth creation. Inability to comprehend and oversee client desires effectively throughout the years will quicken a company’s disrespect. Today there is a grave requirement for viable and prospering client desire the executives in a business. A procedure driven association that centers around client desires makes forms that go past the proficiency additions of procedure improvement. They proactively maintain a strategic distance from disappointments like missed client desires before they happen. It is said that, the best possible procedures create a high level of client dedication, in this manner protecting the top line with a stable and extending client base which thus gives benefits. The model I need to cite here is the cell phones fabricating industry. From the year 2000 with the development of cell phones into the world has happened, this prompted the use of new hardware to man, so at first when portable is presented it has quite recently just a single alternative I. e. , making a call’s. The client can make a call to other number or get a call from different numbers. This didn’t fulfill the need of the client, so the key players in the portable assembling has made an examination and furnished the versatile with other two significant

How to Write a Proposal The Last Guide Youll Ever Need

How to Write a Proposal The Last Guide Youll Ever Need As a sales person, one of the most exciting things is the moment where you finally convert a hot lead into an actual sale. Before sealing the deal, however, you most likely have to deal with some paperwork, the most important of which is probably the sales probably the sales proposal.A lot of sales people do not like writing the sales proposal. The see it as a necessary evil that they have to put up with in pursuit of the deal.So they just craft a passable proposal and send it to the client, and are left wondering why they lost the deal.In truth, the sales proposal provides you with a big opportunity to win new business. With a well written proposal, you can differentiate yourself, help your company stand out, and convince the client why you are the best person for the job.It can literally be the difference between having tons of new business and talking to numerous prospects without ever converting them into paying clients. In this guide, I’ll provide you with everything you need to k now about writing high quality sales proposals â€" the key stages of writing the proposal, what you should include in the proposal, best practices for writing proposals, and several other helpful tips that will make your sales proposals more appealing and increase your chances of winning new business.WHAT IS A BUSINESS PROPOSAL?The sales proposal, also referred to as the business proposal, is the ultimate sales document. It is a multi-page document that gives an overview of all the value that that you are offering the client. The proposal is tailored to each client and outlines who you are, what services you offer, which of your client’s problems you want to solve and how you intend to solve the problem, the results that the client should expect from you, and the amount of money your services will cost your client. It’s good to note that the business proposal is different from the business plan.A lot of people confuse between the two.Whereas the business plan is generic and is aim ed at selling your entire business to prospective investors, the business proposal is tailored to a specific client and is aimed at selling a specific product or service to this client. It is also good to note that you don’t need to write a business proposal for every single sale you make.Sales proposals are typically required when dealing with large organizations with complex sales processes or defined RFP processes.WHEN IS IT NECESSARY TO WRITE A PROPOSAL? Before you start writing the proposal, you first need to stop and ask yourself if you should really be writing the proposal.Sometimes, sales people end up wasting their time writing proposals when these proposals do not move them any closer to making the sale.A sales proposal can be compared to a marriage proposal.Unless you’re a sucker for embarrassment, you probably wouldn’t propose to someone in the first date.Even when you have dated someone for a while, you would only propose if you think the two of you are suited for each other. The same thing applies to sales proposal. You should only write a proposal if you think the relationship between you and the client is ready for commitment. In other words, the client should be ready to buy. Therefore, before you sit down to write the proposal, you should make sure that:The client is serious about the project: You should only send a proposal if you think that the client is serious about getting the project started. If you’re talking to a client who is kicking tires or is in the early stages of searching for a solution, you should hold off writing the proposal until you are certain that they are serious about making the purchase. You have a realistic chance of getting the business: There is no point in wasting time writing a proposal if you really don’t have a chance of making the sale. If your solution is not aligned with what the client is looking for, you are wasting your time. If the client is looking for solutions way below your price, they probably won’t buy from you, and writing the proposal is therefore a waste of time. This is time that could have been better spent prospecting for more and better clients. You have discussed the scope of work and budget with the client: Sometimes, you might be tempted to hold off discussing the specifics of the project until the very last minute, because you are afraid that holding this discussion at the beginning might make it harder to close the deal. However, here’s the thing. If you write your proposal without having this discussion, you will have a hard time matching what the client expects, and therefore the proposal won’t be of much use.The client requires you to submit a proposal: Like I mentioned earlier, the proposal is not always necessary. If you can make the sale without having to write the proposal, there’s not much need for it. However, some clients will require you to submit a proposal before they can consider working with you. In such situations, you have no other ch oice but to write the proposal, even if the other factors discussed above have not been met.BEFORE WRITING THE PROPOSALHaving ascertained that the proposal is actually necessary, the next thing you need to do before writing the proposal is to have a sit down with the client and have a discussion about the project and what they are looking for.During this discussion, you should ask the following questions. The answers to these questions will help you create a high quality proposal. What challenges is the client experiencing? The client is considering working with you because they have a problem that they need to solve. In order to show that you can efficiently and effectively solve the client’s problems, you first need to understand what these problems are. What does the client expect from the project? You need to understand what results it would take in order for the client to consider the project as a success. Here, you should help the client come up with clear, concrete goals and e xpectations. A good example of a goal is something like increasing sales by 20% or generating 50% more leads. With such a goal, it will be clear to the both of you what a successful completion of the project entails. What is the client’s budget? Since the proposal contains pricing information, you should have a good idea of the client’s budget before writing the proposal. This way, you can come up with pricing that is within the client’s range. Knowing the client’s budget beforehand also helps you weed out clients who are not able to match your rate expectations. When does the client expect the results? You should also have a good idea of the timelines within which the client expects the results to be delivered. This will help you determine if you can realistically meet these expectations, and how to plan the project in order to meet them.Who will be your contact person? The person you are in contact with at the moment might not be your primary contact once the project is unde rway. Therefore, before writing your proposal, you should find out the person you’ll regularly be working with. This will also help you identify the correct person to deliver the proposal to.WRITING THE PROPOSALOnce you have the answers to the above questions, it is now time to write the proposal. While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to writing the sales proposal, every proposal should mention three things” the challenges the client is facing, your solution to these challenges, and the cost of providing the solution.Below are some of the elements that the sales proposal should include:The Title PageThe title page should include the title of the proposal, the name of the company, the date of submission, and the name of the client. When crafting the title, don’t write a generic title, such as “Proposal to Company XYZ.” Instead, you want to make the title engaging and snappy. It should give the reader an idea of what the proposal is about. An example of a good title woul d be “SEO Assessment and Optimization Offer for Company XYZ.” Here are some tips on how to write better proposal titles.Table of ContentsIncluding a table of contents makes it easy for the client to know what the business proposal covers and how to get to each section. If the proposal is being delivered in digital format, the table of contents should be clickable to make it easier for the reader to navigate between the different sections. If your proposal is relatively short, you can omit the table of contents.Executive SummaryThis section should contain a short summary of what is contained in the proposal. In a few minutes, it should be able to tell the reader why your product or service is the best for solving the client’s problems.By simply reading the executive summary, the client should be able to determine what they stand to gain from working with you.It is almost akin to a value proposition. In most cases, executives skim over business documents before deciding whether the y are worthy of their time.A well written executive summary convinces the reader to go through the rest of your proposal.Problem StatementThis section should include a detailed description of the challenges the client is experiencing. Here, you want to show that you thoroughly understand what problem they need solved.Remember, without a good understanding of the client’s problem, you cannot come up with an effective solution.Proposed SolutionThis is the most important part of your sales proposal. This is where you discuss in detail how you are going to solve the client’s problem. This is where you also get to show the client why your solution is best suited to the client compared to what your competitors are proposing. When discussing the solution, this is where you talk about what methods you’ll use to solve the problem, the timelines for the project, the deliverables the client should expect, and so on.You should also define the scope of the solution at this point.Defining the scope helps prevent the project from extending to things you had not initially agreed on.For instance, if you are revamping a client’s website, this might include shifting to a better host, redoing the site design, and redoing the graphics, but it might not include something like copywriting for the site. This should be made clear in the proposed solution section.QualificationsThe client wants to know that you are actually capable of doing what you are proposing. This section should show the client why they should trust that you will deliver.A good way of communicating your qualifications is to mention your industry accreditations, any industry awards you have won, and so on.You can also include the case studies of the clients you have successfully worked with previously.Pricing InformationThis section gives the client information about how much it will cost them for the solution you are proposing. Here, you can use an hourly or fixed pricing structure, or you can create a responsive pricing table that adjusts the price automatically, depending on the products or services the client is interested in.Having had a prior discussion of the client’s budget really comes in handy when coming up with pricing information.About UsYou might be surprised that this section is coming so late in the proposal, instead of being among the first sections. However, here’s the thing. The number one concern for the client is not who you are, but rather what you can do for them, and how much it will cost them.If you’ve gotten this right, the client might now be interested in knowing who you are. This is why this section should come after you have convinced the client that you can actually help them with the challenges they are facing. In the about us section, you should provide your company’s contact information, a short overview of the company, and an overview of the key personnel who will be involved in the project.Terms and ConditionsThis section contains the fine print about the project timelines, payment schedules, and so on.It’s basically a summary of what you and the client are agreeing to in the event that you decide to go ahead with the project. It’s always advisable to have your company’s legal team look through the terms and conditions to make sure every is in order before delivering the proposal.AgreementInstead of having to send over other documents once the client is pleased with the terms of your proposal, it is more advisable to include a signature box at the end of the proposal so that the client can sign on right away. This allows them to make the decision while they still have the excitement of reading the proposal.TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE YOUR PROPOSALS MORE APPEALING Source: SalesforceBelow are some best practices and tips that can help make your sales proposal more appealing and increase your chances of sealing the deal:Don’t make it too long: While there is no specified ideal length of a sales proposal, it is always advisable to keep it short, about two to three pages at most. Most people have short attention spans, and the longer you make it, the higher the chances that it will not be read. The focus should therefore be on quality rather than quantity. However, sometimes a client’s RFP process might require a longer proposal, in which case you should adhere to the guidelines of the RFP process.List the deliverables separate from your pricing: While outlining the deliverables for the project, you might be tempted to list a price next to each deliverable. The problem with this approach is that it switches the focus of the client from the importance of the deliverable in relation to the completion of the entire project, to how much the delive rable contributes to the final price. This might make the client think twice about a certain deliverable, even when the deliverable is crucial for the successful completion of the overall project.Avoid using technical language: When discussing your solution to the client’s problem, try to keep your language as simple as possible. Remember, whoever gets to read the proposal might not have the same technical background as you. You want to make it easy for them to understand the proposal.Pay attention to the financial words you use: When discussing the financial implications of the project, pay attention to the kind of words you use. For instance, referring to what you charge the client as “investment” implies that this money will pay off, while referring to the charges as “fees” could give the implication that this money is a cost they will never recoup. Such small differences in wording can have a huge impact on your client’s perception of the project.Include data and vis uals: To make your proposal even more convincing, include compelling, quantitative data about the project, and use visual tools such as graphs and charts to make the information easy to consume and understand.Show, don’t tell: Don’t just tell the client that you are the best company that they can work with, or that you can help them achieve results. Instead, show them the results you have helped your previous clients achieve. You can do this through cases studies, testimonials, and so on.Make your proposal accessible: Think about the format in which your potential client would like to have the proposal delivered. Some prefer simple word documents, others prefer PDF format, some prefer printed hard copies, while others might prefer video. Take the client’s preferences into consideration when delivering the proposal. If you are delivering the proposal in digital format, make sure that it is viewable on difference devices. If you are submitting the proposal in response to a RFP, t here’s a chance that the client has specified the process through which they would like the proposals submitted, ranging from mailing of hard copies to sharing upload links.Clients use such instructions to make it easier for them to handle a huge volume of submissions and to weed out companies that do not follow instructions.Make sure to carefully read the client’s directions on how to submit and follow them strictly.Be authentic: In a bid to impress the client, some sales people may give an unrealistic view of their services or lie about some things. For instance, they might promise to complete a project in a much shorter time than is actually possible. Resist the temptation to do this. Instead, be sincere and truthful and only promise the client what you believe you can realistically deliver. It is far much better to lose a sale because you were truthful, than to win the sale and then fail to deliver as per the client’s expectations.Make your proposal aesthetically pleasing: Graphics have an influence on the first impression your proposal makes, and can also make it easier (or harder) for the client to understand your proposal. If your company has a graphic designer, consult with them to help you create a visually appealing document. Some things to keep in mind here include using clear, legible fonts, using whitespace liberally, making sure that all charts and visual information is clear, and using typographic hierarchy to make the document easier to read.Once you are done writing your proposal, go through it once again to make sure that there are no grammatical or spelling mistakes, that all the requirements of the RFP have been addressed, that what you have promised the client can be delivered realistically, and so on.If everything looks good at this point, you can go ahead and deliver the proposal to the client.WRAPPING UPWhile most sales people tend to treat the sales proposal like a barrier they have to overcome on their way to making a sale, you can actually improve your sales by taking the time to craft high quality sales proposals. If you follow the tips and guidelines shared in this article, you will find it a lot easier to write sales proposals, your proposals will become a lot more appealing, and you will start closing more sales.Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Therefore, the legalization of medicinal marijuana is imperative, because it will allow these patients use it freely. In addition, it will help doctors exercise their duty in saving patients from extreme pains, using this psychoactive drug.In addition, this will give tax breaks and will give money to new and risky businesses who want to start up. The legalization of medical marijuana will generate revenue in all states, as the government will be able to collect taxes from the business. It will help create jobs and economic opportunities in the formal sector other than the illicit market. The money circulated in and out of this industry will help the nation in a plethora of ways, and could reduce marijuana related violence because, the business will be legal and the issue of gangs selling marijuana will be forgotten for good. Additionally, all the money that is being used to pursue illegal drug traffickers can be used to set up hospitals and other programs that will be obliging to the community. The state spends large amounts of money in controlling marijuana trafficking and trying to enforce laws on its use. With its legalization, these funds will be directed to programs that are more useful because, the problem will be solved through legalization. In addition to all of the economic reasons to legalize marijuana, there is the issue of reducing crimes caused by gangs that sell illegal marijuana. Legalization of medicinal marijuana will help in the reduction of marijuana related crime and violence. Many youths drop out of school and join the gangs on the streets in selling marijuana. Now that the business will be legal, these youth will be forced to maintain in school and complete their studies since there will be no business to carry out. According to Califano (067), there has been an increase in violence caused by youth gangs who illegally sell marijuana, this problem will be countered, since it will be available over the counter and those who want to use it will buy it legally without any fear. In most cities, marijuana is known to be sold in the black market by drug gangs, but with its legalization, this type of business will be eliminated, as it will be accessible in the markets. With the legalization of marijuana, illegal trafficking will be at reduced levels, thus a decrease in crime rates.Along with the reduction of crimes caused related to marijuana, if medicinal marijuana is legalized, individuals will use it in the right way. This is practical for the reason that, they will procure what is enough for their medicinal use, and the incidents of abusing marijuana will be at minimal levels. People will learn to use marijuana responsibly because they will be taught about its medicinal value and allowed to use it freely and responsibly. One prominent argument against the legalization of medicinal marijuana is that, it will bring about more new users instead of rescuing the old ones. Furthermore, they argue that, marijuana legalization will make it available and this means that many people will start abusing it, as it is legal, and accessible. However, the supporters of its legalization have challenged this because, after marijuana has been legalized, it will be regulated with laws and policies that will govern its sale. Additionally, many people abuse the drug without knowing its medicinal value, through its legalization; many people will know its medicinal value and start using it responsibly. Those against its legalization should think twice about it si nce, what would someone do if when he/she has a cough, and someone, somewhere else decides that, he/she will not have the cough syrup? This is impossible and so because one has to take the cough syrup in order to stop coughing. The same applies to patients who are in need of marijuana for treatment. They should be allowed to freely and legally access marijuana for treatment purposes, why should they be left to suffer yet something can be used to relieve their pain? Marijuana is a natural and a very effective pain reliever that should be legalized around the world for medicinal use. Finally, medicinal marijuana shoul...

Help Astronomers Classify Galaxies

The world of science is one of careful measurements and analysis. Theres so much scientific data available to scientists today across all disciplines that some of it had to wait for a scientist to get to it. In recent decades, the scientific community has been turning to citizen scientists to help them analyze it. In particular, the worlds astronomers have a rich treasury of information and imaging available and are working with citizen volunteers and observers to help them sift through it all   In astronomy, not only are they working together on analysis, but in some projects, amateur observers are using their telescopes to observe objects of interest to professionals.   Welcome to Citizen Science Citizen science brings people of all walks of life together to do important work in such diverse disciplines as astronomy, biology, zoology, and others. The degree of participation is really up to the volunteer whos interested in helping out. It also depends on the projects needs. For example, in the 1980s, amateur astronomers banded together with astronomers to do a massive imaging project focused on Comet Halley. For two years, these observers took pictures of the comet and forwarded them to a group at NASA for digitization. The resulting International Halley Watch showed astronomers that there were qualified amateurs out there, and luckily they had good telescopes. It also brought a whole new generation of citizen scientists into the limelight. Nowadays there are various citizen science projects available, and in astronomy, they literally let anyone with a computer or a telescope (and some free time) explore the universe. For astronomers, these projects get them access to amateur observers and their telescopes, or people with some computer savvy to help them work through mountains of data. And, for the participants, these projects give an exclusive look at some pretty fascinating objects.   Opening the Floodgates of Science Data Several years ago a group of astronomers opened up an endeavor called Galaxy Zoo  to public access. Today, its called Zooniverse.org, an online portal where participants look at images of various subjects and help analyze them. For astronomers, it includes images taken by survey instruments such as the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, which is a massive imaging and spectrographic survey of the sky done by instruments in the northern and southern hemisphere. The idea for the original Galaxy Zoo was to check out images of galaxies from surveys and help classify them. There are trillions of galaxies. In fact, the universe IS galaxies, out as far as we can detect. To understand how galaxies form and evolve over time, its important to classify them by their galaxy shapes and types. This is what Galaxy Zoo and now Zooniverse asked its users to do: classify galaxy shapes. Galaxies typically come in a number of shapes — astronomers refer to this as galaxy morphology. Our own Milky Way Galaxy is a barred spiral, meaning it is spiral-shaped with a bar of stars, gas, and dust across its center. There are also spirals without bars, as well as elliptical (cigar-shaped) galaxies of varying types, spherical galaxies, and irregularly shaped ones.   People can still classify galaxies on Zooniverse, as well as other objects and not just in science. The system trains users in what to look for, no matter what the subject is, and after that, its citizen science.   A Zooniverse of Opportunity Zooniverse  today includes research areas on a wide array of topics in astronomy. It includes such sites as Radio Galaxy Zoo, where participants check out galaxies that emit large amounts of radio signals, Comet Hunters, where users scan images to spot comets, Sunspotter (for solar observers tracking sunspots), Planet Hunters (who search out worlds around other stars), Asteroid Zoo and others. Beyond astronomy, users can work on Penguin Watch, Orchid Observers, Wisconsin Wildlife Watch, Fossil Finder, Higgs Hunters, Floating Forests, Serengeti Watch, and projects in other disciplines.   Citizen science has become a huge part of the scientific process, contributing to advances in many areas. As it turns out, Zooniverse is just the tip of the iceberg! Other groups have also put together citizen science initiatives, including Cornell University.   All are easy to join, and participants will find that  their time and attention really DO make a difference, both to scientists and as contributors to the worlds general level of scientific knowledge and education.

Here Follows Some Verses Upon the Burning of Our House, by...

The Puritan life, although simple, demanded diligence both mentally and spiritually which put stress on even the most faithful of followers. Although the common practice entailed brushing religious struggles under the rug, few writers bravely wrote of their religious doubts and endeavors to become better Puritans. Author Anne Bradstreet shows in her work â€Å"Here Follows Some Verse upon the Burning of Our House, July 10th, 1666† that religious struggles are often met by Puritans and it takes brave souls to admit their difficult time with their religion. This poem shows a woman dealing with a religious crisis and how even though she struggles her faith still holds strong in the end. This quote also represents the struggles that the aut hor had with the non-materialistic Puritan lifestyle. The content expressed in this poem mirrors the materialistic struggles most Puritans felt with their faith at one point or another. Bradstreet makes a point to show her thought process of returning to the Puritan mindset when she begins to question herself in her poem. The following is an example: â€Å"The straight I ‘gin my heart to chide,/And did they wealth on earth abide?/Didst fix thy hope on mold’ring dust?/The arm of flesh didst make they trust?† (37-40). The repetitive notion of the author questioning herself allows the reader to see into her thought process regarding her current struggle with her beliefs. The author includes this process in the poem to enable the reader to fully understand her way of thinking and ultimately makes her writing more relatable. Obesity A Huge Strain On The Nhs - 1543 Words

Obesity in the UK is proving to be a huge strain on the NHS, as individuals tend to have multiple comorbidities associated with being overweight. Organizational Databases Free Essays

Organizational Databases Randal Chatman University of Phoenix CIS 207 Information System Fundamentals Carlos Andrade December 19, 2011 Abstract This paper is designed to discuss the structure and use of a database system that is currently being used by a nationally recognized telecommunications and entertainment company. It will contain information about the specific type of database that is being used by this company. According to Webopedia, â€Å"a database is a collection of information organized in such a way that a  computer  program  can quickly  select  desired pieces of  data. We will write a custom essay sample on Organizational Databases or any similar topic only for you Order Now You can think of a  database  as an electronic filing  system† (Database, 2011). Every company has some type of database system that holds information that needs to be accessed regularly by the employees to be used to complete a task or goal. There will be some recommendations of improvements to the company procedures of the use of the described database. Organizational Database Now that we are in the computer age we no longer need to use a pen and a sheet of paper to write down information that we will need to refer back to in the future. Nor will we need to use a filing system with folders and large clunky file cabinets to store company information. In today’s business world companies use databases to store company information and keep it organized. What exactly is a database? According to Webopedia, â€Å"a database is a collection of information organized in such a way that a  computer  program  can quickly  select  desired pieces of  data. You can think of a  database  as an electronic filing  system† (Database, 2011). Companies in today’s business world use databases to organize various types of information for the benefit and use of its employees to complete a task. In order for computers to access the database, it will need a database application. â€Å"A database application is a computer program whose primary purpose is entering and retrieving information from a computer managed database† (Database Application, 2011). There are several types of data base applications such as Microsoft Access, Oracle, and My SQL. Oracle is a database application that we will look at in a little more detail as it pertains to a specific department of nationally recognized business. Oracle has been around and creating database technology for over 30 years. When it comes to using Oracle with the department mentioned. It is mainly used to maintain and organize an inventory or devices that are being sold to the public. These devices include cell phones, tablets, computers, and a wide variety of accessories for the higher priced merchandise. Oracle keeps a count of the exact number of a particular product the department has. The products are organized in two categories. The first category is called serialized items which contains everything with a serial number. The serialized items are also the most expensive items in the department. Of course all these items have a model name and number but in order to keep track, these items have sku number associated with them. The sku numbers in the serialized category all begin with a 6. This is a way to prevent confusion when it comes to what goes where. The second category is called non-serialized items which contains items without a serial number. These items are also assigned a sku number and these numbers begin with a 7 or a 4. The Oracle database is masked by the department’s point of sale system. This was designed so that there is a smooth communication between what is sold and what is still in inventory. The database system is a companywide used system and is also used to access inventories of various locations in order to transfer products back and forth. This helps when one location is out or has low quantities of a product and may need additional units. Of course there are times when all great database systems have issues that may affect the workplace. Because the Oracle database system runs behind OPUS which is the point of sale system it can affect potential sales within the organization. Serialized items cannot be sold when the database is down because the specific serial numbers must be removed from the system. Non-serialized items can continue to be sold because they are only counted by their sku only and there are not any specific serial numbers associated with those sku’s. A recommendation for improvement is to develop a backup database that will supplement when the main database crashes. By having this in place, it can improve the amount of down time that is associated with inventory count information. Businesses across the country are using databases to store company information and keep this information as organized as possible. Database applications have made this process easier by allowing these businesses to have access to the information they need daily. Though all businesses use databases for different reasons, databases are now a necessity for a successful organization to thrive in today’s business world. References Database. (2011). Webopedia. The Impact of Price and Tobacco Control Policies

Question: Discuss about the Impact of Price and Tobacco Control Policies. Answer: Price elasticity of demand Price elasticity of demand measures the economic relationship between the changes in quantity demand for a product and the change in its price to define the price sensitivity. It is measured by considering the percentage change in demand and percentage change in the price of such product (Thimmapuram Kim, 2013). Accordingly, if the percentage change on price of the product is small against the high percentage change in demand of product quantity, then the product is said to have price elasticity of demand. On the other hand, if the percentage change on price of product is high while the percentage change in quantity demand is low then the product is not responsive to the price change and regarded as inelastic (Coglianese et al., 2016). For the products like tobacco or cigarettes, product is not responsive to the change in price since, consumption level of tobacco is not affected at high percentage due to increase in its price. As the individuals are addicted to consume tobacco, change in price does not affect the consumption level hence price elasticity for the product reflects less than one and the product is said to be relatively inelastic (Lin Prince, 2013). Similarly, cigarette products fall in the same category as the product is consumed by people out of addiction hence, increase in price due to increase of duties and taxes does not decrease the consumption level at large. Products Percentage change in quantity demand percentage change in the price Price elasticity of demand Addictive product (tobacco/ Cigarettes) 5% fall 16% increase 0.31 Substitute products (soup, chocolates) 70% decrease 20% increase 3.5 Luxury products (Smartphone) 35% increase 15% fall 2.30 In case of products having substitute products, price elasticity of demand represents change in consumption level at high percentage due to change in price structure (Huang, Tauras Chaloupka, 2014). In case of appetizer product for instance, Heinz soup, demand for the product consumption will fall at large if the price of soup rises because the product has several substitute products and consumers will switch to cheaper variety of products. Considering the graph, it can be noted that if the rise in price of Heinz soup amounts to 20% whereas the decrease in demand of the soup is 70%, then the price elasticity of demand for soup is 3.5. Similarly, for the chocolate products, if price of dairy milk rises, consumption will fall at higher rate as there are several alternatives for chocolates hence, the price elasticity of demand for chocolate is said to be elastic. On the contrary, price elasticity for luxury products is positive because if the price of electronic goods for example, smart phones, decreases, demand for the product will be elastic at 2.30 higher than one. Due to price decline, consumption level will increase at high percentage and the product will be responsive to the change in price (Coglianese et al., 2016). In view of the above table, it can be said that the price elasticity of demand is affected by the determinants of consumers income and necessity other than the substitute goods. The King, Charles The First, Actions Were Legitimate, Under The Ideolo Essay Example For Students

The King, Charles The First, Actions Were Legitimate, Under The Ideolo Essay gy he ruled with, absolutism. Though never stating it Charles the First, justified by his wife, was an absolutist. So from his perspective his practices are not at fault, and that is the bias this editorial will be written from, the viewpoint of someone who believes the king should be an absolute Monarch. What Oliver Cromwell, a majority of Parliament, and the Parliamentary forces did was a direct violation of the Kings power. To take a quote from Louis the XIV, L?tat, cest moi, a phrase meaning I am the state, is a phrase that could be used to describe the absolutist rule that Charles the First was supposed to have. But actions taken by adversaries of the King and Country, including Civil War, attack on English troops, trespassing, treason, arresting the King, having soldiers march on parliament, and murder of King were treasonous actions against the King and consequently against the Country of England. Because as mentioned earlier in reference to the King, L?tat, cest moi. So any crimes against the King are against the state. Making all who were involved in the fight against the king in the civil war are basically defeating the idea that it was a civil war since by definition they were fighting against there own country, and being extremely treasonous at the same time. To sum up my previous statements the King is the Country so any crimes against the King are against the Country So the English Civil war was in fact not a civil war but a separatist movement against the Country of England. With aims to establish a military rule and discriminate against those of the Catholic faith. Cromwells followers were upset over many things and tried to change them, violating the kings power. Cromwell was upset over remnants of the Catholicism in Anglicans churches and he wanted those things removed. But he had no right to do that since the King is head of the Anglican Church a right established by Henry the VIII and thus Cromwell could not set church policy. They tried to apply laws to the King such has treason. Which they can not do since according to absolutism the king is above the law and can not be controlled by any person, organization, governmental body for such a thing could be a threat to the sovereignty of England itself. This makes sense in the following example . If the king were to be ever controlled by a group with sinister intentions then they could control the polices and laws that the King sets, giving them untold power over the destiny of England, that has you can see is why the king must rule above all others. Which leads me to my next statement. If the king is above the law he should have control over all those under the law which is why the king should be able to command parliament, another major gripe of Cromwells. People were upset when the king takes land away from the people, well he had every right to has the absolute ruler of England, in addition these people should have been proud to be serving there country by giving up the land for the betterment of England. We will write a custom essay on The King, Charles The First, Actions Were Legitimate, Under The Ideolo specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now By now you may be asking what gives the king the claim to all this privilege. Divine Right does. What mortal man would ever question Gods very own choosing, Oliver Cromwell did, making him a heretic too. In conclusion the English Civil war was nothing but an uprising lead by traitorous heretics out to question the Kings Divine Right over England and satisfy there own cravings for power.

How to Find the Best Research Papers Database

How to Find the Best Research Papers DatabaseIf you are looking for a research paper database that contains the latest topics, tasks and articles that have been generated by students in your school, then you have to know that there are actually a number of ways that you can go about finding the best search engine. One of the major issues with this kind of research is that, while you can get what you need using a research paper database, you still have to make sure that you get what you want.As a result, you should be able to compare the various sources that are out there in terms of the research papers database that you use to find the material that you need. While a lot of these sources will require that you pay a fee, there are some that will not.Of course, this does not mean that you cannot be competitive with the various fee-based sources that are out there. In fact, if you take the time to do your homework, you will be able to ensure that you get the best research papers databas e for your needs.Of course, one of the first things that you should do is to look at the different aspects of the websites that you are considering to host on your own website. After all, you are not going to be able to achieve the results that you are after unless you are able to work with a solid database on your side. The first thing that you want to do is to look for an in-depth search function within the research papers database that you are looking at. By doing this, you will be able to search for the source that is giving you the most current and relevant information that you need. However, it should be noted that you also want to make sure that you are searching for full names, titles and subjects. In addition, you also want to look for the material that has been updated recently and that is relevant to the subject. In the end, though, it should be noted that when you are doing your research for your project, you should make sure that you do not use full names and subject heade rs that have not been updated recently. This means that if you are looking for a specific topic, for example, you want to look for a topic on the internet that is less than three years old.It should also be noted that although you may be able to find information in your research papers database using Google, you should remember that it may not be up to date. For this reason, you should also look for a source that offers older information that you can make use of for your research papers.

What Do You Know About Me?

What Do You Know About Me?Your college essay format addresses the question 'What do you know about me?' In other words, your subject matter should be well understood by the reader so that they can make a logical connection between what you say and your real-life experiences. While there are many general rules for writing an essay, it is possible to combine specific sections of an essay into one or more 'personal essays.'The first step in a personal essay is to identify the audience you will be addressing. Different audiences will have different requirements for an essay. For example, the writer needs to know if the audience is a teacher or a student, and what types of issues they will be dealing with.Your college essay format addresses the question 'What do you know about me?' by addressing the main theme of your essay. Once you know this, you can then divide your essay into its parts: an introduction, two major sections, and a conclusion.Your introduction should start with a discuss ion of the main theme of your essay. In other words, tell the reader what the point of your essay is. Discuss the theme through direct information, such as a fictional story, a history lesson, or an anecdotal story about something you personally have experienced.Next, you move into the main body of your essay, which may have several sections. The sections can be topical, of political or social relevance, or have something to do with your personal experience. Your essay can have a variety of different sections. When writing an essay format that addresses the question 'What do you know about me?' you will want to start with a personal account. This may be a story or a description of something you personally have experienced. If you do not have an experience to share, you can always turn to a topic that has been researched and written about. Personal essays are becoming increasingly popular, but the student may have already learned enough about the topic to address it in the essay format . As a result, the student may not know what to say in his or her personal essay. The best way to write an essay format that addresses the question 'What do you know about me?' is to consider how the audience will relate to the topic, and how it will influence the rest of the essay. For example, if the audience is a teacher, they will likely be interested in knowing how you know so much about them.

55 Easy Ways To Write Headlines That Will Reach Your Readers

55 Easy Ways To Write Headlines That Will Reach Your Readers According to Copyblogger, 8 out of 10 people will read a headline. However,  only two  out of 10 tend to proceed to read the rest of your content. Yikes, right? This is really  important to understand  before you publish  your content. Even if your content is  truly unique and innovative, a weak headline will ruin its chances of being super successful. Fortunately, data and analytics can  help you  write great headlines that will instantly capture the attention of your readers. Heres your  ultimate guide to write  a great headline, backed by research. 55 Easy Ways To Write A #Headline That Will Get The Best Results Understanding How To Write Headlines Well 1. Write At Least 25 Headlines For Every  Piece Of Content Your headline  makes your first impression with readers. A strong headline can drive more clicks. A weak one can send traffic away. That's why it's important to spend time getting them right. Upworthy's well-publicized process suggests writing 25 headlines per blog post.  That might sound like a lot. However, if anything, you could consider this the bare minimum. Some will be better than others. Some, in fact, will be downright terrible. That's okay though. You have to burn through bad ideas before you can find what works. 2. Use The Headline Analyzer It's not enough to guess at what a good headline looks like, though. You need a data-backed way to sort winners from losers. This is where the Headline Analyzer comes in: 1. Type in a few different headline options. 2. The Headline Analyzer will list them for easy comparison purposes. 3. Scroll down to find your Score and Word Balance. The  Headline Analyzer is also built right into your  social media calendar in to help you write the best headlines right where you  organize everything else. Focus Your Headlines On Helping Instead Of Telling Have a look at the most popular Google searches- they're mostly about solving a problem in the easiest and fastest way. This Mashable post entitled, "How to Pay, Exercise and Take Photos Using Apple Watch", gained more than 1,500 shares- mainly because it addresses an issue owners of this cutting-edge device find relevant to their experience. Pro Tip: "How to" headlines get you instant bonus points with 's Headline Analyzer. 4. Suggest The Best Way To Do Something Successful headlines connect  with common searches and address a real target audience looking for the most effective strategies for solving their problem. Content  starting with "The best way to..." has the potential to go viral super quickly. Look at this article  from Entrepreneur entitled, "The Best Ways to Do Market Research for Your Business Plan"- it was shared more than 6,000 times! Pro Tip: Headlines with "best" and "better" also score higher with 's Headline Analyzer. 5. Give Advice For Improvement Instead of persuading your readers  to do something, show them why it's worth the time to do it.  Addressing the reasons and motivations of your readers  serves as the  basis for a really powerful message. Consider this extremely popular post  entitled, "Why You Should Forget Facebook". The headline promises to resolve the cognitive dissonance it creates. After all, why should anyone want to ignore the largest social network? A headline like this one practically guarantees traffic. 6. Provide Solid Evidence To Support A  Claim There's nothing more powerful than the "Backed By Science" claim. Insights derived from research are considered more accurate, relevant, and attractive. Have a look at this post from Inc.com on "10 Productivity Strategies Backed By Science". It has  more than 1,100 shares- primarily because readers consider scientific findings credible. Headlines Backed By Science Get The Best Results7. Share Your Experience "What I learned" is another great headline strategy. Speaking to your readers  from experience, you'll not only gain their trust, but also promise a solution that really works. A striking example of this kind of content  is "What I Learned from Being a Broke, Unemployed Graduate"  published on Entrepreneur. That article's  19,000+ shares speak for themselves. 8. Avoid Clickbait The era of clickbait supremacy is over. Audiences have caught on. If your headline over-promises and under-delivers (which clickbait does 100% of the time), readers will leave disappointed. 9. Ensure Your Headline Aligns With Your  Content Your headline should accurately reflect the angle of your content. Ask yourself these two questions: What's the point of this content? What  is the most important point this content  makes? If your headline doesn't address each of these points, it's time to start over. 10. Include Numbers In List Headlines Writing a list? Include how many items it includes right away. This gives readers a clear idea of what to expect. 11. Experiment With Open- And Closed-Ended Questions Open-ended questions  are great for encouraging discussion (e.g. When Are The Absolute Best Times To Send Email?). Closed-ended questions, meanwhile, are effective for inspiring curiosity (e.g. Do You Send Email At The Absolute Best Times?). Test each to see what performs best for you. 12. Hint At Something Interesting Leave out just enough detail to get readers interested (without falling into the clickbait trap). For example, something like, "This New Car Door Design Is Changing The Game", might get an audience interested in knowing exactly how that hypothetical car door design works. 13. State A  Problem (And Offer A  Solution) It can be tough to stoke a problem and offer a solution in one headline. However, when done well, this technique can offer a solid emotional one-two punch. Here's a great example from Fast Company: It introduces a problem (one that readers might not even recognize as a problem). It then promises to show what the solution might be. 14. Include A  Stat People love to see numbers in headlines. This is especially true when they seem difficult to believe. If you have a powerful stat in your content  (like in this example), put it in your headline. 15. Know Your Audience Make sure you know who your real audience is, and understand what their interests are. You can do this with a little bit of research in Google Analytics. 16. Speak Like Your Audience, Too Use words and language your audience uses. That includes the same types of jargon and technical terminology. You can get a sense of how your audience talks and what words they use simply by participating in social media conversations with them. 17. Be Relevant And Topical The best written headline is useless if your audience doesn't care. Craft headline copy that targets relevant topics and discussions happening in your industry or niche. Likewise, avoid straying onto topics outside of your scope. 18. Aim For Headline Analyzer Scores Of 70 Or Higher Anything lower needs improvement. Holding yourself to this standard will ensure you write more effective headlines. Understand How Emotions Impact Headlines This  study  from  Moz shows that readers  like content  that is  either understated and features up to one superlative word or goes overboard with superlatives to  show why the content is worth reading. What does it mean for you? If you want your content  to go viral, your headline must be located at one of those two extremes; otherwise it won't catch anyone's attention. Here are some words invoking both positive and negative sentiments: 19. Understand What Word Balance Means The Headline Analyzer breaks down words into four categories. Common:  These are words frequently used in English. They're recognizable and easy to read terms. Uncommon:  These phrases are used less frequently in common English. They're effective for creating intrigue. Emotional:  Hit your readers right in the feels. Literally. These words drive action by targeting desired emotions. Power:  These words inspire feelings of motivation and empowerment. For examples of each category, download the Headline Analyzer tear sheet included in this post. 20. Use Positive Superlatives For A  Strong, Emotional Headline Positive superlatives that will help you in headline writing are as follows: best, always, fastest, easiest, most, greatest, largest, funniest, hottest, strongest, biggest, ever, perfect, top. 21. Try Negative Superlatives To Draw On Fear And Doubt A study by Outbrain showed that headlines featuring negative superlatives performed 30% better than those with positive superlatives. What are negative superlatives? Never, worst, nothing, no one, no way, by no means, none. Featuring words like stop, avoid, or don't in your headline is a good idea, too. Pro Tip: Use the Headline Analyzer to understand whether your headline's sentiment is positive or negative. Neutral headlines tend to perform worse than extremely positive or negative headlines. 22. Front-Load Your Headline Structure Make sure that your superlative- whether it's positive or negative- is always at the front of your headline. "7 Worst Mistakes Of Young Startups" sounds much better than "7 Mistakes Made by Young Startups That Are Worst". 23. Going Extreme Can Be Worth It This study from Startup Moon showed that using aggressive or violent words like kill, fear, and  dead actually generates more social shares.  If these expressions fit your context and aren't offensive to anyone, use them to draw even more emotion from your readers. Recommended Reading:  Proof That Emotional Headlines Get Shared More On Social Media 24. Be Careful With Humor Like avoiding ambiguity, avoid puns or jokes. Your headline must be understandable outside of its context. 25. Invoke Urgency Is your content  time-sensitive? Use words that inspire urgency. For example,  say you're writing about an upcoming event with a registration deadline. Something like, "Register For Our Webinar Before Time Runs Out", lets readers know they're on the clock. 26. Make The Unbelievable A  Reality If your content  includes something strange but true, use that to your advantage. For example, an article about  55 kids playing soccer against two pro soccer stars  deserves a hyped up headline. If your content  is good enough, your headline will sell the story without resorting to cheap clickbait tactics. Understand Ideal Headline Lengths A  Kissmetrics study shows that readers tend to absorb only the first three words and the last three words of a headline. Keeping a headline no longer than six words will help readers  easily process it and reduce the interaction cost involved in grasping its meaning. If you can't limit your headline to six words, bear in mind that it's the first and last words that count most. Use this knowledge to your advantage by including attractive keywords in these places. Here's what to  remember when writing your headline: 27. Understand The Media Types Where You'll Use Your Headline The length of your headline depends on what you want to do with it- different lengths work for different media like emails, social networks, search engines, and language engagement. 28. Avoid Ambiguity And Get To The Point If you want to follow the traditional strategy, write headlines that are information and keyword-rich, match the expectations of your target audience, and are understandable even when taken out of context. This also means keeping them relatively brief (if possible). Use keywords at the beginning of headlines, then get to the point with as few words as possible.29. Know The Best Length For Your Language If you want your headline to perform well, consider the following for English: It should be between 60–100 characters and 16–18 words long. Remember that every language has its own rules- only testing can unveil what really works. Recommended Reading:  What Really Is The Best Headline Length? How Do Your Headlines Appear? Choose A  Strong Typeface Choose a font that has a strong visual impact and a personality but also fits the body text. Here's a guide from CrazyEgg to help you find the right font. 31. Size Your Headlines To Stand Out Make your headline visibly larger than body text. Its size can make it really eye-catching, even when pushed to extreme. According to a study by Smashing Magazine, most of the best blogs' most popular headline sizes range from 20–36 pixels, or about 2.5 times larger than your body copy. 32. Use Color To Grab Attention 67% of people say black is the best choice  to help them comprehend the content, but other tints can add some contrast and visual interest. 67% of your readers say black headlines help them easily comprehend your message. That study covered by  Cutting Edge PR found 17% of people like bright colored headlines and another 52% say dark colored headlines make for good comprehension. 33. Headlines featuring numbers- used extensively by a viral content platform, BuzzFeed- appeal to 34% of readers. List posts also get some of the most shares of any content type. With that in mind, here is how to write a headline with clarity: 39. Use "You" To Address Your Readers Address your  reader as you.  This simply grabs your readers' attention and helps them relate the headline to their personal experience. 40. Promise A  Solution To A  Problem Use that will, to, and so  in your headlines. This kind of headline already promises a certain value to be taken from reading the content. Think about how powerful these headlines sound: 41. Help Your Readers See A  Better Future For Themselves Think about this headline for a minute: "How To Do ___ That Will Help You  ___". Keep It Simple Readers skim on the web, whether on social media, their email inboxes, or in search results. Use simple headlines with clear language to hook their attention fast. Overly complex headlines may get passed over if they're too difficult to read. 43. Simple Doesn't Have To Mean Generic (Don't Be Generic) Generic  headlines get buried and forgotten. If you wouldn't read an article based on a headline you wrote, scrap it and write more until you score a winner. Pro Tip: The Headline Analyzer will tell you when you write a generic headline. 44. Be Specific Narrowly focus on  the one topic your content  is about. Consider the main point and benefit of your post, and get granular by  telling your readers exactly what your content  contains. For example, "How To Write Headlines Better" is less specific than "30 Ways To Write More Emotional Headlines." 45. Avoid Passive Voice Use active instead of passive voice. Active is easier to understand when scanning for interesting headlines. For example,  turn a passive headline like "30 E-Books Written By Astronauts" headlines into "30 Astronauts Wrote 30 E-Books To Help You Become A Better Leader".
